Whether you are here for supervision, individual therapy, a training or workshop, I am here to support you.
My strength as a therapist is bringing hope and healing to people who have been through traumatic or chronically stressful experiences, grief, periods of deep depression or anxiety. I assist clients in working through challenges with compassion in order to strengthen relationships, internally; within one's own psyche, and externally; with friends, romantic partners and family. Clarity around internal experience, understanding the root causes of difficult feelings and emotions - empowers one to know even the most difficult parts of oneself, from a place of non-judgement and compassion. Deeper self-knowledge leads to self acceptance and personal growth.
I specialize in treating clients coping with issues around anxiety, panic disorder, depression, trauma and abuse, complex grief, and relationship challenges. I welcome clients of all orientations and backgrounds to discover the richness that deeper self-understanding can bring.
I also offer individual and group supervision for therapists looking for rich, experiential consultation. My goal is that through personal growth and self-understanding, therapists can better understand the parts of themselves that are showing up in the therapy setting or are activated by certain client situations .
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is an evidence-based, holistic psychotherapy model that promotes a non-pathologizing approach to gaining self-acceptance, inner harmony and healing trauma.
Although the name includes the word family, IFS is an individual therapy. IFS holds the view that each one of us has many parts within. Each of these parts are viewed as subpersonalities - each with its own unique characteristics, strengths, goals, memories, age, motivations, wisdom, and behaviors. As we use IFS, we learn to understand these parts, their histories, how they work internally, their relationships to other parts - as we gain this understanding, we gain insight about ourselves and can begin to notice when certain parts are present and why.
